Dr. Stephan received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Iowa State University. Upon graduation, he practiced for two years with a large veterinary group in Chicago, Illinois. He left private practice to pursue a small animal internship and surgical residency training program at Kansas State University. Following his residency, Dr. Stephan relocated to Indianapolis to establish a veterinary surgery referral practice, which eventually merged with Indianapolis Veterinary Specialists. Dr Stephan remains active in areas of orthopedic research and organized medicine, and is currently on the Veterinary Orthopedic Society’s Board of Directors. |

Dr. Buback graduated from Kansas State University's College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She then completed an internship at the University of Missouri and a surgical residency at Texas A&M. In 1997 she received her board certification and began practicing as a surgeon at Northlake Veterinary Specialists in Georgia. Prior to moving to Indianapolis she practiced at Fox Valley Animal Referral Center in Appleton, WI for five years. She is proficient in orthopedic, neurological, and soft tissue surgical procedures. Dr. Buback will soon offer minimally invasive surgical techniques such as laparoscopy and thoracoscopy as new services at Indianapolis Veterinary Specialists.
